NOTON is a traffic radar alert application that respects your privacy. This policy describes how we access, collect, use, and protect your personal data.
1. Collection and Use of GPS Location Data
📍 Background Location Access
The NOTON application accesses your GPS location CONTINUOUSLY, even when the application is in the background, minimized, or the screen is off.
Location access details:
Data type: Precise GPS location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION)
Background access: Continuous location when the app is in background, minimized, or closed (ACCESS_BACKGROUND_LOCATION)
Frequency: Location is obtained continuously while the radar alert service is active
Purpose: Detect your proximity to traffic radars and emit real-time sound alerts while driving
Storage: GPS location data is processed ONLY locally on your device and is NOT sent to external servers
Third-party sharing: We do NOT share your location data with third parties
Retention: Location data is processed in real-time to calculate distances to nearby radars and is NOT stored permanently
Why do we need continuous access to your location?
NOTON is a road safety application designed to alert you about radars while driving. To fulfill this function, the application must:
Monitor your GPS position constantly while the service is active
Calculate in real-time the distance to nearby radars
Emit sound alerts when you approach a radar
Function even when the screen is off or you are using other applications
User control: You can activate or deactivate the alert service at any time from the application interface. When you deactivate the service, the application immediately stops accessing your location.
2. Other Application Permissions
Bluetooth (BLUETOOTH_CONNECT)
Purpose: Detect connection with vehicle Bluetooth devices to automatically activate radar alerts
Use: Only used to identify connections/disconnections of Bluetooth devices previously configured by the user
Data collected: Name and MAC address of the connected Bluetooth device
NOTON downloads a traffic radar database from our Firebase Storage servers:
The database contains locations of fixed radars, mobile radars, sections, and black spots
It is updated periodically with information from contributors
It is stored locally on your device for offline operation
We do NOT send your location data to our servers
6. Data Stored Locally
The application saves on your device:
Favorites: Locations marked as favorites
Routes: History of trips made (optional)
Custom radars: Radars added manually by the user
Settings: Application preferences and settings
Bluetooth devices: List of Bluetooth devices configured for auto-activation
Control: You can delete this data at any time from the application settings or by uninstalling NOTON.
7. Data Security
We implement security measures to protect your data:
Local processing of location data (not sent to servers)
Encrypted storage according to Android standards
Secure HTTPS connections with Firebase
No storage of passwords or sensitive data
8. Data We Do NOT Collect
NOTON does NOT collect, store, or transmit:
Detailed history of GPS locations
Personally identifiable data (name, email, phone)
Contact information
Call or SMS content
Photos or multimedia files
Data from other applications
9. Sharing Data with Third Parties
NOTON does NOT sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, EXCEPT:
Google AdMob: To display advertising (according to your GDPR consent)
Firebase (Google): For anonymous analysis and error reporting
Legal requirements: If required by law or to protect our legal rights

If you reside in the European Union, you have the right to:
Access: Request information about the data we have
Rectification: Correct inaccurate data
Deletion: Request deletion of your data
Portability: Receive your data in structured format

11. Privacy of Minors
NOTON is NOT directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you are a parent and believe your child has provided us with data, contact us to delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We will notify you of significant changes through:
Updating the "Last updated" date at the beginning of this policy
Notification within the application (for important changes)

13. Use of the Application Outside Spain
NOTON has been developed primarily for use in Spain. If you use the application in other countries:
Data may be transferred and processed outside your country of residence
The radar database may not be complete or updated
Some functions may not be available according to local laws
